Apple Announces new iOS6 with Facebook integration and Siri Improvements


At a recent Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple showed off its feature laden iOS 6 software for its ‘i’ products – iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The company previewed its new successor to current iOS 5 software, introducing over 200 advanced features, releasing the beta version of the new iOS, as of now.
The new iOS has been incorporated with some new interactive features including Facebook integrationApple’s 3D Map features, shared Photo Streams via iCloudunique Passbook appnew enhanced voice-activated Siri Virtual assistant and much more.
Apple’s Senior Vice President Scott Forstall said that ‘iOS 6 is a phenomenal launch. The new release of iOS can be considered as the part of rapid innovation that keeps Apple coming with better iPhones and iPads for delivering world class experience to the users.
“The company can’t wait to see the reactions of hundreds of millions of iOS users who will experience these implausible features such as expanded Siri support, Shared photo streams, new 3D Map applications and uniquePassbook app. The new OS is going to take time to reach the consumers but Beta Version of iOS will be available to Software developers from today itself”, says Forstall in WWDC 2012, San Francisco.

iOS 6 – What’s all in-stored

The new iOS 6 will be gaining new capabilities with its Sir integration. The new Siri support will not only provideSports Scoresschedules and news & facts on people, but can also let you post a status update to your Facebookand Twitter account.
The new Siri support also lets you make restaurant reservations, check out movie listing in your location. The Siri app is also going to make debut in new lot of languages including Spanish, French and Italian.
The company is also working to get in liaison with renowned car brands including BMWGMMercedesAudi,JaguarLand RoverHondaToyota and many more for putting a dedicated Siri button on the steering wheels of the cars for enabling hands free operation of your I device.
Apple’s new Maps app will be replacing Google Maps application from the Apple Platform. The new Map App will be vector-based map which will bring smoother experience of panningzooming and tilting of graphics and text.
The new map app, using Apple-designed cartography, will be featuring Voice-guided turn-by-turn navigationguides and will work as your real time traffic information source. It will also support amazing flyover feature which will bring to you photo-realistic 3D aerial view of the flyover.
Facebook Integration will be one of the important parts of new OS as claimed by Apple. By a mere logon, the user will be able to make updates on the status, share photos, check notifications and much more on their device. You’ll also be able to access Events in your Facebook calendar by integrating it with iPhone calendar.
Shared Photo Stream mode allows a user to choose photos for sharing with the closed ones or lets you watch them on other iOS devices or on a web, on a MacBook or you can see on a big screened Apple TV.
Then there’s a Passbook app which is a new wallet app which will assist you in organizing electronic ticketsincluding boarding passesvoucherspayment cards and loyalty cards; Anything you have bought can be accessed using Passbook App.
The Passbook App also access your location information; so as and when you enter an airport the app will automatically provide you with relevant code needed at the situation.
